Do-it-yourself voluminous paper snowflakes

Volumetric versions of snowflakes are very popular now, or they are also called 3D. Of course, more paper is needed, but the effect is amazing.
With the help of such a decor element, you can create an unusual photo zone in the apartment where guests will be photographed.

In the first version, we used the same technology as in this article when we made the autumn leaf.

For a snowflake, take 6 square sheets, you can use multi-colored stickers.

The point is that the paper sheet is folded diagonally and 3 slots are made from the side of the fold.

And the two shortest tips are connected, then the workpiece is turned on the wrong side. The ends of the two middle strips are glued together.

Then the workpiece unfolds again and so the process continues until all the ends stick together.

You will get 6 blanks.

And we glue these blanks with the bases to each other.

The next snowflake is even easier to make. It turns out very fluffy and like many children.

For it, we use a sheet of double-sided colored paper and cut it to make a square.

We turn it diagonally and then three more times, getting triangles.

You should get three sides, as in the photo and a common fold line.

Now long end turn inward and cut off the resulting triangle.

It remains only to make even long cuts.

Now carefully unfold the blank so that the paper fringe does not tear.

To get the volume, we make two more of the same smaller blanks and connect them in the center.

Newspaper snowflake

If you paint a snowflake, then the sleeve should not dissolve in water, take it from ordinary toilet paper.

Apply PVA glue to the edges of the finished product and sprinkle glitter on it.

• PVA glue;
• brushes;
• clothespins.

In total, 20 strips will be needed to make one snowflake. The snowflake itself needs to be made by making its halves.

Step 1. Lay the stripes of blue color crosswise on the desktop.

Step 2. Along the edges of them, lay out strips of light blue and cream colors in pairs.

Laying out the stripes, weave them together.

Step 3. Lubricating the ends of the strips with PVA glue, glue them together. First, as shown in the photo, glue the strips of light color.

Step 4. Glue blue stripes to the light rays. Don't touch the blue ones yet. This will be half of the snowflake.

Step 5. Make the other half of the snowflake in the same way. Put them together.

Step 6. Glue the ends of the blue stripes, pasting them into the snowflake's rays. The strips of one half must be threaded and glued to the rays of the second half. Fix the glue points with clothespins and wait for the glue to dry completely.

Step 7. Remove clothespins. Openwork volumetric snowflake is ready!

Master class number 2: DIY 3D snowflake

• stapler.

Paper will be needed in the form of small squares 10 x 10 cm. To make one snowflake, you will need 10 of them.

Most voluminous snowflakes are made from several sheets of paper, but you can cope with this task by taking just one sheet as the source material.

To make a do-it-yourself voluminous snowflake from one sheet of paper, you need to prepare:

• a sheet of A4 paper;
• scissors;
• glue;
• pencil;
• eraser.

Step 1. Fold a sheet of paper diagonally, cut off the bottom excess strip so that when you turn the paper you get a square.

Step 2. Fold the square folded diagonally in half again as shown in the photo. As a result, you should get a triangle.

Step 3. Cut out the petals from the triangle. If you want the petals to come out even, you can first draw them with a pencil and then erase the extra lines.

Step 4. Repeat the contours of the petals along the edges and make cuts along these lines. Don't cut the petals all the way through.

Step 5. Expand the resulting workpiece.

Step 6. Lubricate the tip of the middle part of the petal with glue and glue it to the middle of the workpiece, pressing lightly with your finger.

Step 7. Glue the middle parts of the remaining petals in the same way.

Master class number 4: voluminous snowflake from several sheets of paper

From ordinary sheets of office paper, you can make an original three-dimensional snowflake. If you take a whole sheet of standard A4 format, the toy will turn out to be very large. To make it smaller, the sheets will need to be trimmed a little, but remember that they must all be the same size, otherwise the snowflake will not be symmetrical.

We are used to decorating our homes, offices where we work, classrooms with tinsel, serpentine and snowflakes for the New Year. If openwork circles are pasted on the window glass, it means that caring happy people live there. Despite the fact that real snowflakes are flat and thin, we want to see these winter heralds in three dimensions. But how to make a voluminous snowflake from a flat piece of paper with your own hands? Quite easy and very fast.

This beauty looks impressive if it is assembled from paper of two or three colors. In order to make a volumetric snowflake with our own hands, we need:

• 6 squares of colored or white paper of the same size;
• scissors;
• Ruler and pencil;
• stapler;
• glue.

Work order

• Our three-dimensional paper snowflake consists of 6 identical parts. We will make each of them according to a stencil prepared in advance. Draw 6 straight lines on an equilateral triangle non-overlapping lines at right angles to each other and at the same distance. Leave at least 1 cm between cuts.

• Take a square piece of colored paper and fold it diagonally in half.

• Make 3 stencil cuts. If you decide to make a large six-pointed star for a Christmas tree according to these instructions from A11 paper sheets, you will have to make more cuts. Accordingly, rotate, connect and peck too.

• Unfold the square and fold the corners of the small inner square together. Secure them with glue or a stapler.

• Turn the sheet over to the other side. Fold the corners of the next inner square and also fasten them together.

• Turn our craft over again and repeat the steps. This will put the first smallest folded square inside your third square.

• Turn the workpiece over for the last time and fasten the corners of the largest outer square. We got such a voluminous multilayer icicle. This is only one sixth of our snowflake.

• As already mentioned, our voluminous paper snowflakes, the cutting and installation diagrams of which are given above, consist of 6 identical parts. Therefore, we make 5 more "icicles". Fasten them with three staples. Bend the tail on which the fastening bracket is located.

• Fasten the two halves into one whole snowflake. Use a stapler and spare no staples.

• So that the snowflake does not fall apart into components, it must be fastened with a stapler at 6 points.

• All. You can tie a thread and hang a voluminous snowflake from the ceiling or hoist it on the top of the Christmas tree.

Advice: You can make a square out of a rectangle very simply and quickly, without using a ruler and a pencil. Snowflake accordion

Cut two identical strips of paper. Collect two accordions from them. Fold them in half across and cut out the same contours. This is difficult to do, as there are too many layers of paper. Therefore, it is more convenient to use a pre-prepared stencil. By drawing a contour along it on both sides of the accordion at once, you can cut it out without folding it in half. Variants of different contours are shown in the photo.

Fasten the centers of our blanks with a stapler and glue them together with PVA glue. Expand the fans and glue two more surfaces. You can hang a snowflake on a Christmas tree.

Openwork snowflake from strips of paper

Cut paper into 15 strips of the same length and width. Fold them first with a cross, and then with a snowflake, 5 pieces in a bunch at the same distance from each other. Coat the middle and let the glue dry so that our design does not shatter from the slightest draft.

Take the diagonal edge strips and fold them as shown in the photo, fastening them with glue or metal brackets. Moreover, they must be attached to the central horizontal or vertical strip. Do the same with the second extreme diagonal stripes.

Repeat the operation, connecting the extreme horizontal and vertical strips and fixing them on the central diagonal (remaining in splendid isolation) strip. It turned out a wonderful airy openwork snowflake.
